LEAP remembers...
Mike Shane
     Mike began LEAP services during our first year in 1995.  Mike's jobs included working at a Florida plant nursery, landscaping in California, and selling newspapers.  He liked to build model cars.
     Mike was a member of St. Bridget's Roman Catholic Church.  He was also active with The Arc of Crawford County.  Mike had a wife, Mary, and a son named Michael, Jr.  Mike died from cancer on January 8, 1997 at the age of 52.

John Tilletson
     John was active with LEAP beginning in 1998.  He was friendly and fun to be with.  He always had a smile on his face.  John worked at Vallonia and attended The Arc drop-in-center. 
     John died from cancer on November 8, 1999.

Dennis Thompson
     Dennis became active with LEAP in 1997.  He liked studio wrestling and like to go to live wrestling events.  Dennis worked at Vallonia Industries.  We remember that he liked to joke and tease people! 
     Dennis died on January 6, 2000, resulting from a brain aneurism.

Jim Millard
     Jim became active with LEAP in 1999.  He resided at Quality Living Center and worked at Vallonia Industries.  Jim told al lot of jokes, and we remember him as a good friend to many people. 
     Jim battled cancer for a long time.  He passed away on October 19, 2001.
 
Dave Nulf
     Dave was in LEAP for 8 months during program year 1999-2000.  He liked fishing and going on trips.  Dave was a fan of Dale Earnhardt Jr., the Steelers and the Pirates.  He liked watching sports, especially basketball, on TV.  He worked at Vallonia Industries and had many friends. 
     Dave passed away on March 24, 2003, following a brief illness.
 
Bobby Speck
     Bobby became active with LEAP in March 1999.  He had attended school at the old Race Street School, commonly known as the Blue Barn in Meadville.  Bobby enjoyed bowling, Special Olympics, music, watching wrestling on television, and was a Bobby LaBonte NASCAR racing fan.  He worked at Vallonia Industries, and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cambridge Springs and was active with The Arc of Crawford County. 
     We remember Bobby as a happy, friendly man who could really dance up a storm!  Bobby died peacefully on March 25, 2007, at Golden Living Center Cambridge Springs, where he had resided for the three years following a severe accident.

Meredith Book
     Meredith spent time in Hawaii with her husband, Albert, who was in the service.  She had three sons, two granddaughters and one grandson.  After her husband died, Meredith went to live at the old county home.  Later, she moved to Qulaity Living Center.
     Meredith enjoyed her family, embroidering, plastic canvas and reading her bible.  She loved jewelery and liked dressing up.  She was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
     Meredith died on April 5, 2007.

Michelle Williams
     Michelle was active with LEAP for 5 months in 2002.  She had attended Cambridge Springs High School, was involved with Special Olympics and served as a volunteer at Meadville Medical Center.  Her employment included Mike's Restaurant in Cambridge Springs, Hoss's Steak & Seahouse in Meadville and Vallonia Industries.
     Michelle died on November 19, 2006, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
